GUEST ART

This space is reserved for guest art. Its purpose is to recognize another artist who is a beginner or intermediate artist like me, and who is using good technique. (Anyone can feel free to send me a photo via email for consideration here.)
This Midwest fall woodland scene is the work of my nephew, Brandon Pollock, who is Senior Photographer at the Waterloo Courier, in Iowa. This painting, once again, exhibits wonderful technique, and when I look at this (compared to many earlier paintings that Brandon has accomplished) I see nothing but huge advances made over time. The subtle wet on wet washes here are so important to good work, and in this case, it makes this painting glow. It captures so much of what I remember about Midwest landscapes.
